Classes

I have four hours of class a day from 8 to 12, with two teachers a day for the various areas (reading aloud, writing, conversing, and listening).

Agh. Just finished two hours of class with a professor who speaks too fast and isn't interesting. She talks more than the other teachers, instead of allowing us to practice speaking (it is a reading class, but it could be far better). I really like my three other professors. They speak clearly, repeat themselves and engage us in conversation or at least make us say phrases over and over until they stick. The 口語 teacher is the best because he tells us a lot of Chinese culture (food so far) and does a good job of helping us memorize useful phrases.

Oh, and my classmates include: 3 American guys (two of which are Reed students), two Russian girls, two Thai girls, 5 Korean girls, and a Japanese man.
