First 15 Days

I'll keep this post short because I have too many things I could write and no clearly defined adventures to narrate. I've spent my first 15 days wandering, staring, and eating. I've avoided looking like a tourist (well, not at all really) so far by only taking photos from my window, but even that one view has no shortage of things to look at. Click on the photo in the previous post to go to the Picasa album. So since no big adventures have occurred, here are some small and fun observations.
The fake banana flavor is not as faky as I thought. The bananas I've eaten in China are really that flavorful.
Perhaps it's wrong of me, but I love all of the obese tiny dogs here. They are fun to look at.

I should also mention that I haven't actually met any Chinese people yet, other than professors, but in the next couple weeks I should be meeting with:
A girl who plans on going to college in the US, we'll practice both of our new languages
An art student who will show me around the CNU art dept, though it seems unlikely that I will actually take an art class
And I'll be tutoring someone in English, she's either 14 or 40 (I don't know if I heard right), I hope 40 and I hope that she is willing to make me a home cooked meal.

  1. Oh Eveyln, I am so excited for you. It sounds like you have allready done a better job meeting people. Your room looks suprisingly large, do they not have the efficiency apartments in Bejiing? That is nice you found a tutor job allready. If she is 14, I am sure she will have a mother that might cook.... Caio
